January started out perfect. My mom and sisters were in Ohio and threw me a beautiful baby shower. The soups were all homemade. Yummy salads. Handmade bread. Don’t even get me started on these amazing desserts.

Mint chocolate brownies and almond amaretto treats graced every table and were promptly gobbled up. Each place setting was completed by a perfect thank you gift handmade by the aunts-to-be! Aren’t they adorable?!

I'm finding that certain events trigger the "holy-cow-I-am-really-having-a-baby" feeling. Being with my mom and sisters over Christmas and New Years was one of those. I've always been a daughter. It was my first role in life. Now more than ever I look just like my mom.

My second role in life was sister. The five of us have always been close. I may not be the tallest but I'm still the oldest!

Adding the role of wife was natural. Now being in the midst of all these roles at once over the holidays made me realize that the role of "momma" is coming. Scary and exciting!
